SOME INFORMATION ABOUT US
NITA COLOR CENTER is a privately owned company established in 2004 G.C. and registered under the license number AKK/AA/1/1000816/2004 by the Ethiopian ministry of Trade and Industry.
The center is currently engaged in the manufacturing of acrylic modified high quality architectural paints with the shades of wide range. Apart from this, Nita Color Center is the sole manufacturer of artist grade oil and acrylic paints in the country.
Nita color center is owned and managed by Getahun Heramo (chemical engineer), with a total of 23 years experience in the field of paint and color technology.
The owner has worked previously in various state and privately owned paint factories as Head of quality control department, paint ink formulation expert and project manager. Moreover he has been actively participating in the establishment of new paint factories from feasibility study up to turn key level.

Motto
“Beyond Manufacturing " is the motto of Nita color center. It is just like saying "We manufacture the piano and then play it" Our brand story also states that: It is true that we manufacture high quality acrylic modified paints.
It is also true that we are pioneers to manufacture artist grade paints locally, for which we have been crowned by the world Intellectual property office (WIPO, Geneva) in 2004 and the world Bank in 2007. But the whole story doesn’t stop there.
We take you up to the end by making use of recent developments in color psychology, color philosophy and color phenomenology! Much more than manufacturing!
Our Product
A. Architectural Coatings
1. Acrylic modified water based paints: Highly crosslinking interior and exterior water based paints. Over 5,000 color shades are available. Our tinting unit is not confined to specific brand shades ; custom-made colors are also available.
2. Nitex Exterior Texture paints:
2.1. Nitex Contxtra:
Highly elastcic with optimum mechanical strength and outstanding adhesion on concrete surfaces. We are the first local manufacturers of Contxtra paint in Ethiopia(starting from 2016).
2.2. Nitex Fine Quartz
The fine quartz application of three steps. The first step is undercoat fine quartz application to be followed by two successive water resistant paint application.
2.3. Nitex Superfine
This is our new product of the year 2024. Usually, only two steps are required. No need of any white/gray putty application. No need of any spray application which requires electric power. Nitex Superfine can be applied directly on the concrete after minor surface preparation. Currently Nita Color Center is applying Nitex Superfine in many of the projects at hand.
2.4. Nitex Crack filler
This product is highly elastic and water resistant. Being water resistant, it can be used both for interior and exterior use.
B. Art Paints
We are also pioneers and also the sole local manufacturer of Art paints since 2004. Our Art paint category includes:
1. Artist Oil paints
We manufacture high quality artist oil paint with excellent durability. Pigments are selected as per internationally accepted standard regarding smdurability and health issues.
2. Artist Acrylic paints
We also manufacture artist grade acrylic paints with a fast drying property. Being water based, acrylic art paints are safe and environmentally friendly.
The owner and manager of Nita Color Center has won three awards namely

Award from the World Intellectual Property Office (Geneva) for the successful import substitution research on the local manufacturing of offset, letterpress and web offset printing inks. The award was delivered by the vice president of WIPO and handed over by the then President of Ethiopia, Germa W/giorgise.
